The Lutheran World Federation has lent an extensive support to the earthquake victims in Selang VDC of Sindhupalchowk district in terms of providing them with means for temporary shelter and initiation of small scale mechanisms with regard to producing food and drinking water. The organization distributed corrugated galvanized iron (CGI) sheet to altogether 1321 earthquake hit people in the VDC, among which 654 were male and 667 female. Likewise, blankets and tarpaulins were handed over the VDC’s 260 households.

Scary Saturday still haunts Santoshi

Santoshi Suwal, 40, had a bad dream on Friday night. She thought it was nothing serious so didn't share it with her husband Aakash, thinking it might bother him too. She prepared food for her 10-member family in the morning. After doing some household chores,she headed to her field as it was high time to reap wheat. As she was busy in the noon, suddenly she started hearing loud noise around.She saw her neighbors running to open fields shouting for help.

80-yr-old hikes for one and half hour for tarpaulin

Nar Bahadur Karki, 80, calls himself a lucky man. He made through the devastating 7.6-magnitude earthquake unharmed on April 25. He said he was reborn on April 25. But a permanent resident of Selang-7 VDC of Sindhupalchowk district is now homeless. "I saw my two houses collapse within few seconds as I scrambled through for safety with my wife," he said.
